BarberShop was opened in 1962 by **Stratos Vekris** in a small ground-floor space on Plastira Square, Pagrati. Stratos cut the hair of three generations of the same Athens neighbourhood until 2014, when he passed the shop to his apprentice **Kostas Pelekanos**, who had been with him since 1991. Kostas is now sixty-one. He runs the shop today with a team of four other barbers and an apprentice, including Stratos's grandson **Manos Vekris**, who returned from a master programme at Pall Mall Barbers in London in 2022 to take Chair 1 — the chair his grandfather worked at for fifty-two years.nnThe shop has not been modernised. The five barber's chairs are the original Takara Belmonts, re-upholstered three times. The mirrors are the same etched mirrors. The floor tiles are Stratos's. We added
