The Barbers

Five chairs, five barbers and one apprentice. Between them they have been cutting hair on Plastira Square for over a hundred years.

Manos Vekris — Chair 1

Stratos’s grandson. Apprenticed at Pall Mall Barbers in London from 2019 to 2022 and came back to take his grandfather’s chair in spring 2022.

Kostas Pelekanos — Chair 2. Owner. With the shop since 1991, took it over from Stratos in 2014.
Apostolis Roukos — Chair 3. With the shop since 1998. Specialises in scissor cuts.
Spyros Mavropetros — Chair 4. With the shop since 2007. Specialises in beard sculpting.
Christos Beltsios — Chair 5. With the shop since 2017. Hot-towel shave specialist.
Vassilis — apprentice, third year. Cuts under supervision, and takes longer, and gets it right.
